Data Deletion

Data Deletion Policy

Just Internship respects your right to privacy and control over your personal data. This policy outlines how you can request the erasure of your personal information and what data we retain for compliance, safety, and operational audits.

1. What Data Can Be Deleted

Upon request, we will permanently delete or anonymize the following data from our active databases:

  • Your profile details (name, email address, password, phone number).
  • Your learning progress, test grades, and internship history.
  • Your project submissions, Git repository links, and grading feedback notes.
  • Saved theme preferences and session logs.

2. What Data Is Retained (Exceptions)

To comply with regulatory laws, financial audits, and prevent credential fraud, we must retain the following data even after an account deletion request:

  • Billing and Transaction Records: Invoices, transaction history, and payment details are kept for taxation audits as required by local laws.
  • Issued Certificates Registry: To protect the validity of credentials shared with recruiters, details of issued certificates (e.g., Certificate ID, recipient name, date of completion) will remain in our verification log. If we deleted these records, employers could not verify the legitimacy of credentials you previously shared.

3. How to Request Data Deletion

You can initiate a data deletion request through either of the following channels:

  1. Email Request: Send an email to privacy@justinternship.in from your registered email address with the subject line "Request for Data Deletion".
  2. Support Ticket: Submit a request using our Support & Contact Page, choosing the "Account Management & Deletion" category.

4. Processing Timelines

Once a data deletion request is submitted:

  • Our security team will review and verify your identity within 48 hours.
  • Your account and deletable data will be purged from our production databases within 30 days.
  • Your data will be completely deleted from our secure system backup tapes when they cycle, which can take up to 90 days.

5. Reversing Deletion

Once deletion is processed, it is permanent and irreversible. We cannot recover your account, progress, project files, or certificate history. If you wish to use the platform again, you must register a new account.
